Many years ago I collected bootleg lps. I had all the first early boots (lps, singles etc) but like a fool had to sell them......big regret now!
I started to collect them again a while back and intend to get "all" of the boots again and these are the ones I have so far. Have put them on collectors corner but will put them on lp fans only section some time soon. Had I more time to include the track listing for all the albums then I would have, but if anyone wants info on any of them just let me know. I have taken pics of the front then back covers ............ 1.

My pleasure Dennis, it's just a small piece of your great topic. Looking forward to the comming import book too, should be good, those behind it know their stuff!! Do you have these two books on import vinyl? "Jailhouse rock" is the best so far, reviews and opinions by the authors. From the dark to the light" is an Italian effort with just frontcovers and small bits of info. Both are however incomplete, black and white printed and with some errors, but when interested in this part of the fandom, very nice to have. Had the Jailhouse Rock book for years but it is in tatters now and just about holding together now. -------------------- |

Great collection of bootleg albums Dennis!
I collected those bootleg albums as well back in the seventies, eighties, and luckily enough I was able to keep them all. I went through the majority of all the posts in this thread. I noticed that the Unreleased Tracks album (entry 30) is on black vinyl. I have this one printed on red vinyl. And I did not come across (or missed it) the Rock My Soul album, which was printed on blue vinyl. Wonderful thread! Sonny |

Rock my soul on blue vinyl is original; later on pressed on bleck vinyl. Also there are several variations with the cover. Sometimes released with original vinyl and third generation cover.
It's for the memory to these old vinyl days. The tracks are available in better sound on CD's. colonel snow -------------------- |

Very true Colonel.
All of these old imports mean something in some way or another to collectors. And yes, a lot of the material on them already got a better release. However, to mention that Rock My Soul once more: the picture shown here, shows the inlay sleeve as blue. The copy I have, has a like beige inlay sheet (and the fold out thingy inside) and the blue vinyl. To be honest, I am not into collecting those old bootlegs at this period in time, but since reading this topic I came to wonder, how many versions are there of this particular album? By the looks of it quite a few. Anyway, always fun to be able to talk with someone about these wonderful collectors items. Merry Christmas to all! |
