Notes:
Best and longest show from this tour. Elvis performs a good show and even does an unrehearsed version of Lawdy Miss Clawdy. Unfortunately this would also be the last time it was performed.
* Tracks 9 & 24 were released in soundboard quality on FTD's http://www.elvis-tkc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=115 (2002).
it's a pity that the sound of the CD is not good;
the orchestra is conducted by Marty Harell (Joe Guercio was not present).

I have indeed heard bits of this concert and the sound isn't the best indeed.
Marty replaced Joe on several occasions during the March / April 1977 tour's.
indeed the soun is not the best, but the show is very enjoyable so for me it's a recommended cd
A very excelent show to re-visit again!!
Strong perfomances,a moving spoken part in "My way",a funny "Fever",Elvis in great shape!!
And so does the audience,really wild and the reason the sound is not that great..
There is a cdr floating around...is the sound better there,anyone knows?
Hi Johan
Don't see a cdr on my list - only King Time In Abilene for the 27th - which was indicated to be a 'good' audience recording
popped over to ciscokings - he's got Rockin' Abilene listed - but he doesn't rate the sound quality on his site and there isn't a sample to listen to
tried one more place - but no listing for this one there either.
Thanks for the search Donna!!
I guess we'll have to wait until Cisco reads this...
I do hope the sound is better,the "King time in Abeline" cd,altough pressed,is not that good to my ears...would call it average..
In most cases the CDR or CD came from the same source>>>> a twenty-sixth generation of a double speeded copy from an earlier tape. Now in these days you can up-grade the sound a little bit. However what is bad never becomes good with the help of upgrade-software.

King Time In Abilene sounds better than the CD-R..
Thanks for the info Henk and Cisco!!
I'll stick to the original then!
Perhaps a better sounded version on CDR is circulating as I've replaced my original CD by this CDR.
At any case there are better sounded audience recordings available.
