The Japanese always seem to offer the best complete packages for their Elvis releases.....BTW, Chris, Very Cool new Avatar you have there!!! (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

Not so sure about the 50 and 60's releases(Elvis always had a yellow tint),but the Japanese artwork for the 70's and later was perfect, and so much better then the original.

I like them all simply because they dared to be different. Though i agree, the 70s covers are probably my favourites too. They always have and still do seem to have the most pride in their releases.....other countries should take note of how the Japanese release Elvis products !! -------------------- |

The Japanese sure knew how to make quality records - great sound, beautiful covers and often inlays with pictures. Japan must also be the country that have produced most different covers for the same record. Often when a record was rereleased it got a totally different cover. There's lots to collect there!
Here are some of my favourites:

Don't know if you have seen this, but it seems to have every EP, LP, 78, 45, CD released in Japan featured with a thumbnail picture of each one:
http://www.biwa.ne.jp/~presley/index1.htm even a list of books there. All accesible via the menu on the left. -------------------- |

for some reason the japanese LP releases are better in sound than the first american pressings most of the time; the problem was that they were hard to get in western europe and priced two till three times what you paid for an european LP release in the 70's and 80's.

(IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/notworthy.gif) Hey Chris, SCP-1244 King Creole (believe it or not) is one of Japan's most desirable EP's (as you know) & we can see why with that stunning cover! Great thread Michael, a man after my own heart.
