There ain't nothing like a song
The song was written by Byers-Johnston; it's not a real rejected song. The song was selected for the movie Spinout but it wasn't used. Recorded 20 june 1967 for the movie Speedway because there were not enough good songs available(?) for this movie. colonel snow -------------------- ![]() |

A little less conversation
The song was selected to be included in the NBC TV Special; Elvis should sing to a pre-recorded instrumental track. The instrumental track was a dub-down version (Elvis' vocal removed) from the recording on 7 march 1968 track 2004 take 16. This instrumental track is released on acetate (+LP 68'Comeback). The first version was selected to be included after the Guitar man - opening scene / Commercial break according to pages 10-11 from the script dated 11 june 1968. The second version (reprise) was selected to be included after the Arena medley according to pages 31-32 from the script dated 11 june 1968. According to the revised script from 26 june 1968 the reprise version was cut; finally both versions were not recorded at all. colonel snow

Recenty I digged up a few more songs submitted for the movie Easy come easy go:
The first script was dated: 18 march 1966 (120 pages) and written by: Antony Lawrence – Allan Weiss. Final selection for the script (130 pages) was made 12 september 1966 with changes till 4 october 1966. Discovered songs besides the wellknown titles: Surf city (Brian Wilson-Jan Berry); I found a girl (Phil Sloan-Steve Barri); The little old lady (from Pasadena) (Don Atfield-Roger Christian); Drag city (Christian-Berry-Wilson). However these songs were rejected in the pre-selection by the various changes in the script. colonel snow addition: Recently discovered these songs belong to a cancelled movie project in 1965 /66 by Jan & Dean titled Easy come easy go; the library archived all with the same name / number. here information taken from the library EASY COME EASY GO John Rich; 1967 (Paramount Pictures, 1967) contains: correspondence, 1965-1966; lyrics by Brian Wilson and Jan Berry for "Surf City"; lyrics by Phil Sloan and Steve Barri for "I Found A Girl"; lyrics by Don Altfeld and Roger Christian for "The Little Old Lady (From Pasadena)"; lyrics by Roger Christian, Jan Berry and Brian Wilson for "Drag City"; lyrics by Sid Wayne for "Easy Come, Easy Go"; lyrics by Joy Byers for "She's a Machine"; lyrics by Gerald Nelson and Fred Burch for "Sing You Children" and "Yoga Is As Yoga Does"; lyrics by Dee Fuller and Mark Larkan for "I'll Take Love"; lyrics by Gerald Nelson, Fred Burch and Chuck Taylor for "The Love Machine"; lyrics by Bill Giant, Bernie Baum and Florence Kaye for "You Gotta Stop"; PCA analysis; credits and synopsis; MPAA certificate letter, December 5, 1966; reviews, 1967.
