I do love Elvis's box set on lp or on cds.
because to me you get more music for your money then you'll get on a single lp or cd. I all ready have a few in my collection like. The Elvis Presley story my mom got me this for christmas in 1977 and this was my frist time i ever heard all of these great song by Elvis, i havent played this set in a long time, so i guess its long over due to put this baby on my trunetable. then on my birthday in 1985 she got me the silver ann box set, by this time it was on sale and a cut out, but to me i dont really care at the, at the time i was only into his music, i played this a lot of times and id worn out the set, then finnly i found a nother copy of the set and with out the cut out and i payed $100.00 for it, and its still in mint shape. back in them days it was fun buying elvis music on vinyl, and even today i still do love buying vinyl. |

A most wanted item from 1975: The Reader's Digest box. 6 albums. If you put them together the backsides forms a poster from September 3rd, 1973. It also contains a booklet and a bonus album.
I would give up a part of my body to get it complete.

QUOTE (pacer1965 @ Jul 17 2005, 11:41 AM) Well, here in Holland it's hard to get. Sometimes in second hand vinyl meetings but it's almost never complete. Most of times the booklet is missing, or the bonus album or the box itself is so heavily damaged..... -------------------- "Life's a paradox! That's two doxes!" (Elvis on June 19th, 1977)

QUOTE (mrsongman @ Jul 16 2005, 01:01 PM) (IMG:http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y42/mrsongman/denmark3lpbox.jpg) Boxset of 3 lp's (The Legend Of Elvis Presley). A Denmark product Release ? Greetz, mrsongman This box was released in 1984. Like a lot of "Danish" releases from that period I believe this one was actually made in Germany, but because of the Danish copyright laws at the time it got the "Made in Denmark" print. At the time any song that was more than 25 years old was considered public domain here. If you check the contents of the box the newest songs are from 1958, so they all fell into that category. There were many releases on various labels by Elvis and other 50's acts during 1982-1986. Then it suddenly stopped. There where rumours that RCA informed the records shops that they wouldn't deliver records to them by any of their artists, if these semi-bootlegs were found in the shops. Eventually the law was changed to 50 years. Another 25 years have passed now and we see these releases popping up again on CD... -------------------- "I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive..." |
