just yesterday night as i was poring over my mags , i looked again at all the binders of just mags , and again as i get older and wonder what will happen to all this stuff, i have promised some to one of my nephews, as my oldest son hates ELVIS, - [yes you heard right my older son hates ELVIS PRESLEY and his music, why i have no idea] and my daughter just doesn't understandit all and calls this room a church with the deak being the altar, so as i keep cramming stuff in here i often think when i'm gone what the hell is gonna happen to all this , and at times i think of all the money i have paid for all this , i'm sure my wife will gladly try to sell as much as she can[ i yi yi ] it's amazing how when we get older we start to think of these things, and i would really like to maybe start a book and share my pics with all the fans who love seing ELVIS photos, but then again i think and have a problem with makin a buck off ELVIS [something i have no need for and loathe], but .... i don't know . i just would love to take it all with me , but of course that is out of the question as JEHOVAH will not allow this. Ijust wonder... have you also given thought to this ?

I'm 22 so hopefully there's still a long way for me.
I haven't got much but sometime i think...is it all worth it...am i going to take anything with me? No, but when i retire i can sit back and enjoy Elvis to the full....that's one of the few reasons i want to live a long life. -------------------- I'd rather go on hearing your lies....than smell your armpits son

I haven't really thought about it....but i know what you mean. I expect at worst that it would be sold. At least that way my kids would benefit in some way. Of course, in a perfect world, Kyal ( my son )will grow up to become a fan himself .....or Kerri ( my daughter) will do a u-turn and start digging Elvis more ....then i will have no worries (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)

Well, you know there have been people buried with their automobiles, why not take it all with you? Now that would be dedicated! Like you guys have already said when that time comes I hope all my stuff is either given to my son, who, I hope grows up to be just as big of fan as all of us or sold and he then gets the money.

Hey..this is something I've never thought about. Both my Son's don't dig Elvis but know how important my collection is to me. Maybe it's something I need to think about seriously and put something on Paper...imagine them taking all my things to the Charity and them not realising what they have. There really isn't anyone I can leave my collection to .. apart from Father Conor.

(IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/notworthy.gif) i don't have any items of my own - I have loved and listened to the man since I met my husband over 19 years ago - I have been to Memphis and that then brings his music home to you. If anything happened to Stephen (god forbid) , our daughters have grown up loving and respecting Elvis (14yrs and 10yrs) so I think I wouldn't stand a chance selling any of his items. But to be honest I wouldnt want to as it would keep me close to him for ever.
Rather go on hearing your lies - then to go on living without you. |

Awwwww, thanks Carol (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) But I insist you leave your Tom Jones collection to Chris! A freaky thing about my vocation is as soon as you become a Parish Priest you are obliged to draw up a will with a full inventory of your worldly goods - been required since the middle ages when priests died and their families "inherited" the house, the Church the lot! All my music, dvds, plus a few "valuable" books are to go to my nephew, the remaining books are to go to a library, my other memorabilia is to be sorted through by a friend who can keep and distribute as wished and give the rest away. As a priest I have to be buried in my vestments but my sister is under strict instructions to put my Elvis suit on me underneath them and slip all my Elvis jewelry on me before the coffin is closed - even the shades! SO you lot even when the final trumpet sounds and the dead are raised from their graves to glory there'll still be one "ETA" wandering about and I KNOW YOU ALL! Muhahahahahahahahahahaha! I know wot u guys mean .... i myself have no-one to pass my Elvis stuff onto ... at times its even made me think twice of collecting any more. Maybe i may stop when im far to wrinkly to be bothered anymore, as far as selling our stuff, it would have to be private collectors because after all most of our collections dont exist ... not OFFICIALLY anyway ... lol.
