I Got a Feelin' in My Body:
The song is written by Dennis Linde and recorded by Elvis on December 10, 1973, at Stax Studios in Memphis. Recorded between 9pm and 4:30am, togheter with the song It's Midnight. Composer Linde was overdubbed on guitar at a later date. The single had no overdubbing. The Lyrics might have been spiritual, but the playing cooked, and Elvis was totally caught up in the excitement. After a few tempo adjustments and several good takes, Elvis's voice began to wear thin on the seventh try. The playback confirmed that they already had everthing they where looking for on take three, so it was transferred to the master reel. First Single Release (b/w There's a Honky Tonk Angel): August 1979 First LP Release : Good Times, March 1974. Later LP Released: Our Memories Of Elvis Vol. 2 Lyrics: (Linde) When Moses walked the children out of Egypt land Said now don't you worry, we're in the Lord's hands He's gonna walk beside us, the time is comin' near He's gonna wash away all our misery and our fear I got a feelin' in my body This will be our lucky day We'll be releasing all our sorrow Leave it layin' along the way When Daniel faced the lion there wasn't any doubt You got to be like Daniel and the Lord will help us out I got a feelin' in my body This will be our lucky day We'll be releasing all our sorrow Leave it layin' along the way Won't you lift your eyes up children Lift them to the sky Heaven stands before you, gates are open wide Shelter for the weary, comfort for the weak We'll leave the devil's evil, sweatin' on the street I gotta, I gotta, I gotta I got a feelin' in my body This will be our lucky day We'll be releasing all our sorrow Leave it layin' along the way Won't you lift your eyes up children Lift them to the sky Heaven stands before you, gates are open wide Shelter for the weary, comfort for the weak Leave the devils evil, sweatin' on the street I gotta, I gotta, I gotta I got a feelin' in my body This will be our lucky day We'll be releasing all our sorrow Leave it layin' along the way I wanna know, I wanna know, I wanna know right now, I wanna know Yeah. yeah, I got a feel I got a feelin' I got a feelin' I got a feelin' in my body This will be our lucky day We'll be releasing all our sorrow Leave it layin' along the way Takes: CPA5 1617 Take 01 Take 02 Take 03 Master Take Take 05 Take 06 Take 07 Studio: Stax Studios, Memphis A&R/Producer: Felton Jarvis Session Engineers: Mike Moran, Dick Baxter Overdub Engineers: Mickey Crofford (Hollywood), Al Pachucki (Nashville) Guitar's: James Burton, Johnny Christopher Acoustic Guitar: Charlie Hodge Bass: Norbert Putnam Drums: Ronnie Tutt Piano, Organ: David Briggs, Per-Erik Hallin Vocals: J.D Sumner & The Stamps, Voice, Kathy Westmoreland, Mary Greene, Mary Holladay, Susan Pilkington Also look here: Discographies & Chart Info, Good Times, RCA CPL1-0475
