Missed Chris on the board yesterday.....Didn't see him on. He must have been counting his Elvis CD collection......If so, we may not hear from him 'till Christmast......LOL!!! (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/LSHIC.gif)

I do not count any downloads as part of my collection...because i seldom do them.....and they are not like any actual CDs IMO. It matters not to me whether you do or you don't...i am just saying that i don't. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/LSHIC.gif) Nice to hear that someone is using the shop....congrats Conor.... QUOTE (Suspicious Minds @ Apr 26 2007, 05:31 PM) I probably shouldn't say anything, but I'm VERY much against downloading FTD's... yes, I know, people say that they're expensive, but if everyone would start downloading them, it would destroy the label, and then what? No more studio outtakes in crystal clear quality, and no more never-before-heard concerts... soundboard or multi-track... now wouldn't that be nice? I think we should support the label, as it's... I dare to say, one of the best things ever happened to Elvis fans. |

I like to buy the FTD albums when they are at the cheapest price online. There is no way I am spending £20 an album. Is FTD an official label like Sony/ BMG?
If you have no downloads, nobody would hear all those unreleased tracks and albums. There are others on here who downloads soundboard concerts. Why should we wait years for these releases. I like these downloads. For some of us it is expensive hobby if you tend to buy up every album that is released. Even if you got the greatests hits albums again and again. As for FTD downloads I think fans should be allowed to download as it would make their mind up if they want to buy it. Not everyone is blessed with wealth (money). -------------------- Frank

you have good points there guys.....if possible we should support FTD...yes, possibly the greatest thing since Elvis' death.
But they are expensive and I for one am not wealthy at all....should i be deprived of listening to anything released on FTD? I don't think so. If possible I would buy every single FTD release, but unfortunately..that is way out of sight. -------------------- I'd rather go on hearing your lies....than smell your armpits son

Is FTD an official label like Sony/ BMG? FTD's are being produced under Sony/BMG, so yes, it's an official label. QUOTE (Suspicious Minds @ Apr 27 2007, 11:30 AM) Well, everyone who actually buys the albums can hear all the unreleased concerts, studio outtakes and what not. QUOTE (Suspicious Minds @ Apr 27 2007, 11:30 AM) As for FTD downloads I think fans should be allowed to download as it would make their mind up if they want to buy it. Not everyone is blessed with wealth (money). I agree to a certain point. But if you mean that the fans should be allowed to download the full albums, so that they could make up their minds if they want to buy it or not, then no, no, no... that would NOT be a good idea. That would definitely lower FTD's sales figures, and if they don't do enough profit, do you really think they would continue releasing unreleased stuff just because the fans want it? I think not. It's ok if there are something like 30-45 second samples available of (some of) the songs on the albums... that should be enough for everyone to make up their minds. |

I must agree with Jouni. FTD must be supported. Downloading them doesn't do that....and whether you have the money or not...downloading them does effect the sales and could put the label at risk....and i couldn't agree to that. If you buy anything....buy FTDS...... JMHO.

Why didn't FTD have a download page so you had to pay for the downloads?
When most are £17.98 an album I won't buy them until they low price online. -------------------- Frank

Then don't buy them. You still shouldn't be downloading them though. This is not a "get at Frank" Frank.....anyone who downloads FTD's should think more seriously about it. One day, it could all be gone. Then what would we have ? -------------------- |

I know you are not Chris. It's still a pity they can't charge a reasonable price.

QUOTE (Suspicious Minds @ Apr 27 2007, 09:14 PM) Personally, for what you get, i think that they are priced ok. But of course understand fully, that they could be better priced. The way to do that would be to put them on general release.....can't see that happening either...sadly. -------------------- |

I think like everything else related to Elvis if they see a way to get peoples money then they're gonna do it. Up until the ftd label came out, here in the states, you hardly ever saw a cd going for damn near $30.00, the only time you did was when it was a 2 cd set. I've got about 34 or 35 original ftd cds, the rest are copies or mp3 files. I'd rather give my money to the import world. Alot more to choose from. Don't get me wrong, the ftd cds are cool and if I can ever get money to spend I will replace the copies I have with the originals. There's too many forums offering downloads of just about everything nowdays, so whether we like it or not, mp3 files are here to stay. Perhaps one day they will replace the audio cd all together

The price is £15.99 post free to the UK, unless you are a qualifing member of the TKC (which you most certainly are), then it is even cheaper. Cheers, Chris |
