Neat idea about framing them!
I have all my originals 33 lps and they are still in the same sleeve and cover. I left the plastic on even as a kid. Mainly because I kissed him all the time.... (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)

I still play mine just for the nostalgia. I have many 45's too. They still sound so good. (IMG:http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

there are some programs available to restore old vinyl when you make a CDR; tape hiss and other noises can be removed too.

My wife bought me one of those new usb turntables for Christmas and it came with the cleaning software, even though sony sound forge is what I use I can hardly wait to make some cd's out of my old vinyl boots.

that's the reason why some import LP's like Rock me gently - We'll remember you etc from the 80's are circulating as CDR now .

they were never released as CD; the tracks however were available on all kinds of import CD's.

I know. But I just make copies for myself as I rarely play my vinyl. But I still collect it, well Elvis vinyl anyway. I have sold a lot of the Beatles stuff.

the good import LP's released on Audifon label - Golden Archive label - Laurel label like Rocking Rebel vol. 1-2-3/ Plantation rcok / A dog's life / 2 double LP's with Burkbank shows / Jailhouse rock sessions and many more are worth to make a CDR taken from the vinyl.

some tracks on the LP Memphis memories are even not released on CD.

RCA/BMG has released some LP's not available on CD like the German release Elvis Forever vol. 2.
side 2-3 from the first pressing of this double LP has the stereo channel closed and this gives a strange effect like Kiss me quick without backing vocals.

this old records taken from 2-3 tracks stereo masters has a separation that backing vocals were in one channel (right channel most of the time) while Elvis was in the other. With the CD's at the moment Elvis' vocal is remixed to the foreground and the backing vocals behind Elvis.

Never throw away your vinyl because these are the original mixes.
I've put my LP's on CDR too when is it an important release and it give the oppertunity to clean up the releases for surface noice/scratches etc.

Store these LP's in the right way otherwise they became worthless and only useful as decoration on the wall.

With the technology of today and clean programs on your PC you can remove scratches/surface noise etc. The vinyl is is the original mix so don't use equalisers.
Through the years I've transferred all my vinyl to CDR and stored these CDR besides the CD version (if possible).

Don't forget that vinyl is analog and CD is digital in most cases so don't compare the sound quality. The first CD's were terrible too. Some CD's had electronicaly reprocessed stereo as taken from vinyl masters. Like vinyl the CD got a developement in technology through the years.
