How is Elvis years at Lake Tahoe a mystery?
I am not sure but I thought I read articles about Elvis at Lake Tahoe in the Elvis monthly in the early 70's. Anyone who still have the Elvis Monthly from the 70's might help. It was said that the management or Elvis did not want Elvis recording shows at Lake Tahoe. Most fans who followed Elvis concerts would have known about concerts at Lake Tahoe. How is it a mystery? Probably no photographs or concert lists of songs. -------------------- Frank

Who knows why He say that, I think that it's time for him to relax and been his self , The shows are great at Lake Tahoe , the ones in 1971 we have few concert list of songs from 1971, and one unreleased of SB. the 1973 shows are great ones to have . the 1974 are ok , the 1976 are fair. |

Was it the recording info and photo's held back after all those years? We never had no concerts added to 70's box series. -------------------- Frank

How is it the world's best kept secret? Was it the recording info and photo's held back after all those years? We never had no concerts added to 70's box series. The "world's best kept secret" phrase is more or less just a saying, referring to the fact that although it was very well known when Elvis was performing in Tahoe there STILL isn't too much documentation of the engagements overall... especially of the '71 and '73 ones --> The "no photography/recording/filming" rule was very strict so we certainly don't have many shows available despite the fact that Elvis didn't even perform that many shows there over the years... especially when compared to Vegas and on-tour shows. Nowadays we already have a good amount of photos covering the latter engagements, but if you do the math, Sue McCasland is basically the only major contributor for Tahoe shots... and even she was rather reluctant in doing so. Obviously other people took photos in there too, but as far as what has surfaced, it seems like they're basically just a handful... so Sue is the one we should really Thank for publishing her photos and making the 'Tahoe mystery' in one way (visually) a tad more open to us. |

Essential for any fan of live Elvis as we have countless books on Elvis in Vegas but very little on Elvis in Tahoe. -------------------- TCBEP
