On CD 2 track 14 you can hear before I want to be free take 1 starts Elvis sings a few lines of the Banana boat song (Day-O); we know the song as recorded on 22-10-55 by Harry Belafonte (20-6771) but the original version was recorded in 1952 by Edric Connor & The Caribbeans as Day Dah night (Banana loading song).

ELVIS would have also heard the Parody version by Stan Freberg. (of BANANA BOAT)

It had massive airplay in the 1950s.....

And I wonder what Elvis would have thought about STAN's version of HEARTBREAK HOTEL
really very amusing version... with Tons of Echo down the Hall in the Bathroom.

This also got much RADIO PLAY by all the Stations, in the USA, GB and Worldwide.

At last...the movie version of the title is now issued!.

Some great version"s of the song"s and i am looking to vol 2!.

One thing,it has been said and confirmed that some of the FTD covers, are scan"s of the original covers etc,why not make up a new cover...FTD do this with the sound boards!.

Great set all in all!.
