Notes:

Good Dinner Show concert. The concert is very laid back, professional and has a pleasing song line up.

This concert was released in 1993 as http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/index.php?showtopic=71 (wrongly dated as being the February 5th 1973 Dinner Show) by Fort Baxter.

The sound on this re-release is, imo, much better than the Baxter release, which had fantastic sound already. On this release the sound is extremely well balanced and it has a great 'ambient feel'. In other words, it's one of the few soundboards that gives you a 'being there' feeling.

This is a grate record. The sound is good, the set list is decent, alltough it could have been better IMO.

That said this is one of those records i can really play from start to finish.. Well I admit i do skip love me tender if close to my stereo. wink.gif

I haven't compared the sound with "It's a matter of time", but i'll be sure to do that.. Alltough my baxter CD is full of scratches and some tracks are not working anymore. laugh.gif

It's just ordinary scratches. Some really deep.. But only two or three tracks is un-playable. I have never come across cd-rot in my Elvis collection yet.

I recently sat down with the headphones on and listen to the show all the way through..first thing that impressed me was the sound..Stefan's right, the show is very professional. My favorites were Until its time for you to go(enjoy all versions), What now my love, mountain, steamrollerblues..about all songs were performed well so i enjoy it all!!

Have just managed to get a copy of this one..thinking before that i was happy with Its A Matter Of Time. Wish i would have looked for it sooner now i have heard it....a very nice improvement and a wondeful package too...( the booklet is awesome ! ).

It is 'just' a Las Vegas show after the Aloha project....However the setlist is enjoyable and profesional and the sound is great.
It also gives me the feeling to be there too......

* Nice guitar solos from James Burton on Johnny B. Goode :-)

Yes Pieter, those solo's on 'Johnny B. Good' from '72 and '73 are pretty good indeed. Sadly, after '73 the space for James and his solo's became lesser and lesser.

Although this Vegas season is generally known to be 'boring', and in a certain way it perhaps is, I find it a decent season personally. If you take away the voice problems Elvis was having mid February he performs quite decent shows in much the same manner as August '72, but with perhaps a less 'exciting' set-list. The concert on this cd still remains my favorite of this season though and that's only partly because of the great sound.
