These "Vegas Variety" series by this label are very interesting shows.
Rare and good performances, cool booklets but above all, in very decent sound.
On volume 5 the sound is a bit "lesser", let's say it's "average"at best.
But the content is something else!!
For the first in a looooooooooong time, this label comes up with a 100% new show!!
A show that's not been heard, and not out on any cd or cdr before that i know of!!
A real premier!!

The show itself is a real "end-season" show.
Elvis goofes up, cuts down songs short, various false starts... having fun!!
It may be an unproffesional show to the casual visitor, but since it's the 3th show of the day(after dinner and midnight), only the faithfull fans remained anyway.
The show is pretty short, about 47min(don't know if it's edited somewhere, and if it is, it's well done), but it's very entertaining.
And above all: It's new!!

Denis ..you have any mags which mention this extra added show. I am still very sceptical about this date..
I only know of a DS and MS this day..perhaps the tape is wrongly dated..

The show from 6.9.70 MS seems new to me. too....I only have the DS from this day...could you send it to me..?
I want to make sure it`s the real deal....the setlist is similar to the actual show..chronologically it fits..differene could be missing parts here and there..

Please PM me, Dennis...of course I pay postage..

This what i have from this date...

It must be said that on the new release there is no "I Just can't help believing" on the cd.
While the ds and ms have this track listed.
I agree that the total setlists of ds, ms and the new one look a like...but that's not always the solution. undecided.gif

I have never read or never seen somewhere that there was a 06-09-70 3 am show; it was only with the 07-09-70 3 am date which was in fact 08-09-70.
This 07-09-70 3 am show was an extra concert by special request.

The tracklist for 06-09-70 3 am looks an edited 06-09-70 D show. I doubt that I've lost you was sung in the last part of the show. As I have not heard the show yet I must be careful with my final comments.

It's only sung partly Henk, a few lines(but with full orchestra) as part of the "Hound dog" section.

I have added the complete track here for you to judge and compare.

Henk..I have compared..the shows a r e different. However..I still believe that we are talking of the MS of this day..although it was performed in the morning time..what I mean is that the MS of this day probably began much later for whatever reason. "3am" might stem from the end time of the show or the late beginning..but it wasn`t an extra added third 3am this day like we had on Sept. 7th...we would know about such a show for sure..

About the Vegas Variety 5 cd...

From the press release..

QUOTE
You may still wonder what makes this concert so special? Well, obviously the fact that this show has happened and until now all the Elvis books did not know about it and have miscalculated the total shows for Elvis 3rd Vegas engagement. The fan who recorded this show labeled the tape as "September 6, 1970 - 3 AM" being the 3rd Show of that day. We have no reason to doubt this.

I have no reason to doubt it too...Someone who was there and recorded it labeled it as September 6, 1970 - 3 AM.

Also .the show is not complete..he must have done I Just Can`t Help believing..you can hear the last note before You`ve Lost That Lovin Feeling..I also think there`s a cut after LMT and that I`ve Lost is missing, too...
I am not sure about S.Minds missing but it`s most likely....perhaps you all check too about hearing cuts before You`ve Lost That L.F. and after Bridge...

Have to agree with you Johan, can't hear it either undecided.gif

btw, I wonder why the producers failed to mention that 'Love Me Tender' is also just a 'part' of the song and not a complete version undecided.gif Sound is definately quite good, have heard far, far worse !
