Fools Fall in Love
(Leiber - Stoller)
Fools fall in love in a hurry
Fools give their hearts much too soon
Just put in two bars of stardust
Just hang out one silly moon
Oh! They've got their love torches burning
When they should be playing it cool
I used to laugh but now I'm the same
Take a look at a brand new fool
Fools fall in love just like schoolgirls
Blinded by rose colored dreams
They build their castles on wishes
With only rainbows for beams
Oh! They're making plans for the future
When they should be right back in school
I used to laugh but now I'm the same
Take a look at a brand new fool
All right!
They've got their love torches burning
When they should be playing it cool
I used to laugh but now I'm the same
Take a look at a brand new fool
Take a look at a brand new fool

My personal favorite Elvis song......Just doesn't get better than this for me!!!!!
A Leiber/Stoller penned classic with Elvis being supported by the Famous Nashville Studio B "A-Team" musicians, including the always fabulous Boots Randolph, wailing away on the SAX!!
This is a swinging/jumpy pop/rock Elvis Classic for me, which was only made better when I heard ElvisMixer's "Soaking Sock Remix"!!!!
I can't say enough good things about this track......You can also find this song on the 60's Masters Boxed Set as well as the Fantastic Tomorrow Is A Long Time CD. I hope we don't have to wait too long for an official CD release of the Camden "I Got Lucky" CD, which would also feature "Fools Fall In Love".
Also.....Be on the look-out for an ElvisMixer/BJB TKC Original extended play CD featuring different versions and mixes of this FANTASTIC song!!!!
A TRUE 10 STAR RATING FROM ME!!!

While not my favorite song Elvis covered, it is definitley an awesome song from the very underrated 1960's which I really enjoy listening to.
I remember when i first heard this song at the "Tomorrow Is A Long Time" cd.
It was awesome to me, and i loved the the sax and trumpets!
It's not my fav either, and it's not often i listen to it, but it's a very good song who can cheers me up. First of all, i thought it sounded like a christmas song, but now i'm not sure
Excellent under-rated tune. Just as many of Elvis material at this time was....first time i heard it would have been on the Camden label....how much material they let is hear back in those days..... ..great info as always Steve.....
I liked Elvis's and the Drifters version of this song.
A shame that Elvis's version was on a B side of Indescribably Blue in the UK and never got played.
I thought RCA UK picked the wrong A sides on some of Elvis's singles.

LIOR
It's not one of my favourites either but you still cant help but get caught up in the bouncy infectious melody, and obvious pleasure Elvis and the band seem to be having recording it.
Awesome song.........we play this most weeks on TKC Radio for Barry as its his favourite
Very catchy tune, full of energy, and very enjoyable
Thanks for playing this for me on the show, Chris!!!!
This is the song of the moment for me! I first heard it in some compilation album I borrowed from my Aunt and I never forgot it! I love it! It's one of my favorites....truly a "Under-rated" song from the 60's.....I love it's upbeat melody and it's soo catchy! I can't get it out of my head.....And a truly cute song!! Makes me fall inlove with him all over again!
a version in binaural can be found on CD Unsurpassed masters vol. 4 CD 12;
